Learning Enrichment Activities
Today, we are ever more connected to the world around us, and most states have adopted Common Core Standards to help students prepare for living and working in this increasingly globalized economy. These standards provide students with problem solving situations which relate to daily living, critical thinking, searching for evidence and conceptual understanding.
With the help of Dr. Tarja Geis, we’ve created Learning Enrichment Activities which teach Common Core Standards through activities which are effective, meaningful and most of all – fun!
To view an activity, click on one of the books and a new page will open. If you have any questions, or an idea which will make our activities better, please feel free to contact us at any time.
We would like to extend our generous thanks and acknowledgement to Dr. Tarja Geis for her role in creating the Learning Enrichment Activities. Her expertise, help and encouragement made these projects a tremendous success.
Dr. Geis teaches and is an adjunct professor in Graduate Education. Certified in numerous areas, she is also a National Board Certified Teacher. Tarja has worked as a counselor, Title I specialist, founder/administrator of an elementary school, author of the H Book, teacher, evaluator, chairperson, assessor, and curriculum specialist. Having received numerous (local to international) awards, recognitions, grants, and scholarships, Tarja is also an experienced presenter and speaker.
As an avid worldwide traveler, Dr. Geis is continually searching for deeper meaning, enhancement of education, and help and peace for mankind. Born in Finland, English is her third language and perhaps the drive to bring complex subjects like the Holocaust into simple terms and concepts, even a child or a new learner of English can readily comprehend. Although The Holocaust Story was originally written for elementary students, it is a basic book for any age.
